Today ,Qualcomm announced the whole new generation chipset Snapdragon 805 with upgraded 2.5 GHz quad-core preocessor emedded with Adreno 420 GPU.
The latest Snapdragon 805 provides support for 4K display also giving the support for 4K video recording, which they already provided to previous Snapdragon 800.The most exciting feature of this new chipset is that it has about 40% more processing power as compared to its previous version i.eAdreno 330.
This latest chipset also comes with an upgraded quad-core processor. The cores are based on new Krait 450 architecture and facilitates the maximum clocking speed of 2.5 GHz and bandwidth memory upto is 25.6GB/s.As this processor is based on 32 bit architecture so we expect there will be a new generation of 32 bit processors before Qualcomm shifts to 64 bit processors.
A whole new modem called Gobi 9×35 is also installed in this new chipset. Its is driven by a 20nm process which is more faster ,more power efficient and even more smaller. It also supports 4K video streaming over WiFi,LTE Category 4 and also dual band WiFi.
Last but not the least is the improved dedicated camera processor which provides better camera processing speed and even improves the boost image quality.A new Gyro sensor is also embedded for the stabilization of images
As sourced by Qualcomm website, they are sampling it now and will ready for the production soon .And Snapdragon 805 chips could be spotted in the devices in the first half of 2014.
Snapdragon 805 looks like a great imrovement from its previous version but will it be able to overshadow the influence of Qualcomm 800? We will see.
