THE SAINT: Rege-Jean Page Cast in Upcoming Reboot from Paramount

Rege-Jean Page Just Cast in The Saint Reboot

Handsome heartthrob Rege-Jean Page has been chosen to play in the upcoming reboot of The Saint from Paramount Pictures.

You’ve seen him and admired him in the hit Netflix series “Bridgerton.” He’s Rege-Jean Page, the British superstar of the show who is also of note for his role in the 2016 miniseries “Roots.” Now, he’s taking on the responsibility of starring in and executive producing the upcoming reboot of The Saint from Paramount.

The Saint is based on action/adventure books by Leslie Charteris from the early 20th century about a man named Simon Templar who goes after assorted villains. Roger Moore played him in a British TV series from the 1960’s. In the 1997 film of the same name, Val Kilmer portrayed Simon as a character who was an international thief that donned different disguises to go after some interesting bad guys. He was called “The Saint” because he often assumed the role of Roman Catholic saints to fulfill his goals. The 1997 version grossed a good, solid $61 million domestically when it was released and earned a “B+” CinemaScore grade. These were good indicators that there’s still life in the character and many are expecting Page’s version to far exceed those results.

Page is no stranger to working with Paramount and has also worked with them on the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons. Page is taking over the role in the new The Saint project which had originally featured Chris Pine as its star. Pine was going to be in a film that was to be directed by Dexter Fletcher but that variation of the project has currently been “shelved.” Fletcher may have a role behind the scenes in the new reboot but no news is available on his association with the project at the current time.

Page is a superstar in his own right. Playing the hunk of the hugely popular “Bridgerton” on Netflix has exposed his remarkable acting talents to the world. Audiences have swooned over his striking good looks as well. Fans of the show were utterly heartbroken when it was stated that Page would not be coming back for the show’s second season. Page has also done work in the upcoming, highly anticipated Ryan Gosling/Chris Evans movie The Gray Man.

The current script for the upcoming The Saint is being written by the acclaimed playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah. With Rege-Jean Page’s association, you can bet a lot of people will be lining up to see it when it is eventually unveiled. Especially all his fans from “Bridgerton.”
